Take a Peek at Sony’s New Show, Powers.

Sony Pictures Television is producing a series called Powers, based on the graphic novel series by the same name. The world of Powers was originally created by writer, Brian Michael Bendis (Powers, Ultimate Spider-Man, Daredevil, House of M, Spider-Woman) and artist, Michael Avon Oeming (Powers, The Mice Templar, The Cross Bronx). The show follows the story of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward) as they investigate crimes dealing with people who have “powers”. While many have super human abilities, most turn their powers to profit and crime.

Buckle up everyone. This is not a world of super heroes.

4721Sulky Christian Walker used to have powers, but they were stolen during a fight against Wolfe, his former mentor. As a detective for the Powers Division, he uses his experience to investigate powered crimes. Will he get his powers back? We will have to watch to find out.

His partner, Susan Heyward is flipping the tables from serial killer to detective since her role as Hannah in the following. Deena Pilgrim is the new kid in town and as a  rookie to the Powers division, she has to rely on her keen instincts to triumph over powered criminals.

The show will also feature the dark side of Eddie Izzard as he plays the mass murderer, Wolfe. Given how fantastic he has been in other roles, I cannot wait to see him as the big bad Wolfe .

Powers will be a PlayStation Original series and the first 3 episodes coming out on March 10th. PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to watch Season 1 for free!
