Random House has annouced the cover for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R. R. Martin. The book will be an omnibus that joins the novellas The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight into a dark marriage worthy of Westeros. The stories cover the life of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg and occur 89 years in the past of the rest of the series.
This book will be a great way to get a look at how the events of the Game of Thrones were shaped by history. The book features are by Gary Gianni, who has done work for Conan, Doc Savage, and the 2014 Song of Ice and Fire Calendar. His stuff is gorgeous and reminds me of old pulp dime novels.
The book is coming out on October 6th and it will be a welcome jump back into Martin’s world while we wait for The Winds of Winter.
